37 teams from Germany, Denmark, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and China participated in the 8th Northern European E-car Rallye – start and finish line were on the Green-Tec campus in Enge-Sande. The focus was set on the first competition in the field of semi-autonomous driving in Germany.
It was also possible for drivers to show their skills with little or no assistance systems on board . They had to pass a parking space, a 1.4 kilometer course with four curves and a slalom with a DEKRA referee on board. With a fast and clean driving style, Björn Meyer and Charlena Geppert of FURGY CLEAN Innovation in a BMW i3 won the competition, followed by Kfz-Gewerbeverband Schleswig-Holstein and Udviklingsråd Sønderjylland from Denmark.
In the main rallye, besides speed, orientation and time trials were also required. The overall winner was the team of Autohaus Lüdemann & Zankel from Kaltenkirchen.
A special bonus was awarded to the best women’s team, the best foreign duo and the overall winner: By invitation of the Chinese province of Hunan, the three teams will be taking part in the 2nd Dongting International E-Mobile Rallye in China in October 2017.
The northern european e-car rallye is organized by the Kiel-based Eco-Mobility e.V. and supported by the Society for Energy and Climate Protection Schleswig-Holstein (EKSH).
